Bullies in Politics
I seems to me that the political arena is a natural for bullies, and the current political season seems to be ample confirmation.
A look at the recent Republican Presidential Primaries shows a lot of what I would call bullying: Vicious ad hominim TV attacks on other candidates - browbeating and ridiculing during debates (If you could call them debates), and widespread use of PAC ads - which are encouraged by the candidates.
Historically there is some evidence that the presumed Republican candidate, Mitt Romney, was a bully in school and his direction of Bain Capital seems to indicate continued tendencies. I don't know his record as governor of Mass. - does anyone here?
Do we want to elect a bully as President of the U.S.?

There's just no one out there that I seem to like in politics anymore. I probably miss out on some good one because I don't do enough research but it just seems you get to the election and it comes down to the lesser of two evils so to say. Like the California primary next week, what's the use in voting for a republican candidate, my vote doesn't count, it's already been decided. What about the electoral college, do we still need that around? Why not have one day early in the year for a primary election for everyone then the november general election. the most popular candidate wins. I don't know, I'm about fed up with politics. The politicians in California haven't a clue about what they are doing.
So do I want a bully in the white house? At this point does it really matter who is in the white house, they don't seem to have much power anyway. I don't want either of them in there at this point.
Thanks for visiting my blog, Dick, and for your good thoughts of me. I answered your question in my post comment.
I don't know much about US republicans primaries, but from your description it looks like italian political debate.
My opinion is that somebody wins because he is (or atleast appear) better than the other, or, from another point of view, the other is worse than him.
Which usually in Italy means that if somebody doesn't have anything really good to say about himself, he would say something bad abouth the other. Which, to me, looks like the exact opposite of Politics.
