  • SAVING SOCIAL SECURITY - PART 2

It seems the Bushies have decided that the info they provided the Washington Post Reporter (See last post), wasn't exactly what they intended.
They have issued a clarification: The "Personal account" will all belong to the poor schmuck who invested in it, BUT: The Social Security Benefit amount he/she receives upon retirement will be reduced by the amount he put in the "personal account" plus interest (to be determined - they now think 3% compounded). The example they use shows a presumed 4.6% yield which would net the recipient about $5000 more a year. Apparently how the "personal account" money can be invested will be controlled by the government.
This idea will do nothing to "save Social Security", but apparently that's not the idea anyhow.

  • thank you for joining my blogring save the cows eat a republican. please tell all your freinds.

  • Social security is one topic I am not up on. All I do know is that the younger generations such as myself are going to get skrewed out of it. You do realize by posting this I am now going to have to go read up on it until I am satisfied I know everything. ;) <3

  • My mom is somehow convinced that Bush will work this all out for the better.  Why she has this thought is based on, "a feeling"  *shudder*

RYC: Yes, "last times" are selfish - I can admit to that. Endings are hard on me - but having a way of defining the ending seems to make it a cleaner break for me. As you have said before, I tend to, "cut my losses" but that doesn't mean that I don't feel pain or the desire to have things linger like Chris and Ash did.  It's just that my logic won't allow me to do such things :/

Do you have their diaries from that time?  I didn't save anything from their site - but I would like to read them again if you have them.  If not, I will live :)

Thanks for continuing to read and post comments - life is tough right now - I need all the support I can get :)

  • That is a very good point, but I think that anyone appreciates being treated with kindness. I understand that my solutions to problems are not ones that would please everyone, hence I understand that I cannot be solely responsible for solving major world issues. I just want to make people's lives better by treating them with decency and respect and showing an interest in them. I believe that is what Buddha meant also by that quote I have posted. <3

  • Yes, I have been studying Buddhism for four years. I am familiar with the Noble Eightfold Path and the Four Truths. I love Buddhism. I am not sure if I will convert or not, but it is something I have been contemplating for some time. <3

  • Hello! I just would like to give a huge thumbs up for the superb info you’ve here on this post. I will be coming back to your weblog for a lot more soon.
